IHACPA is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic health information manager to join a team who are driven by improving the accuracy and use of health information through principle and evidence-based healthcare classification development. As a classification manager within the Acute Care Classifications section there is an opportunity to influence the development of the national activity based funding healthcare classifications, through provision of specialist knowledge and operational experience in the use of the classifications. The classification manager works within a team to develop and refine ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS that is also looking to transition to ICD-11. Contributing knowledge about the healthcare classifications, medical science and hospital processes will assist in informing updates to the national healthcare classifications. The key duties of the position include The Classification Manager works within a team of managers in the development of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS and AR-DRGs. This role primarily relates to ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification development and transition to implement ICD-11. Responsibilities include: • Conducting ICD-11 activities to support IHACPA's framework for a decision to implement ICD-11. This includes activities related but not limited to: o assessment of the maturity of ICD-11 o conducting activities to support transition to the new ICD-11 architecture o participating in ICD-11 stakeholder engagement activities • Supporting ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification development. • Supporting development of National Coding Advice • Collaborating to ensure the ongoing development of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS will support transition to ICD-11 • Working with the Classification Manager, Education to develop educational content for ICD-11 • Participating in specific ICD-11 projects as required • Providing advice and support to other sections within IHACPA as it relates to classification development and potential use of ICD-11 • Other duties as directed by the Director, Acute Care Classifications.
