About the Role Are you passionate about water safety, public service, and making a real difference in your community? Barkly Regional Council is currently seeking a responsible and proactive Lifeguards to join our team at the Tennant Creek Pool. This is your opportunity to be part of a professional and values-driven team committed to service, integrity, and excellence. As a Lifeguard, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of public safety across all aquatic environments. You will provide vigilant supervision of swimmers and patrons, respond effectively in emergencies, and ensure the pool and its surrounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all. The Essentials • Pool Lifeguard Certificate (Training will be provided week commencing Monday, 8th September 2025). • Experience in lifeguard practices, water safety principles, and crowd control. • SLSA Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue). • Provide First Aid (HLTAID011). • CPR - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009). • Current National Police Criminal History Check. • Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card – Northern Territory). About You • You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. • You have a proactive, reliable attitude and ability to remain calm in emergencies. • You are self-motivated, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team. The Finer Details • Casual position paying Level 3 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023. • Hourly Rate of 34.93 (including 25% casual loading) • Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of 1.89 per ordinary hour. • 12% Superannuation. • Free access to our Employee Assistance Program.
