Job Description Java Mainframe Programmer About the role: Our client is looking for candidates with a strong background in Java development for Mainframe based applications. Experience with software maintenance and support including system improvement and incident/problem resolution. Key Responsibilities: Maintain existing Mainframe Java applications. Optimize applications to extend usability and minimize downtime. Conduct testing and provide end-user support for legacy systems. Proven expertise in the technical environment which includes the surrounding software technologies – scheduler, transaction processor, middleware etc. Problem ticket in-depth analysis, trouble-shooting, problem resolution Operational monitoring, alerting and tuning Proactively providing innovative solutions in accordance with modern technologies Build and maintain relationships with and advise various levels of stakeholders. The Successful Candidate Candidates should possess one or more of the following additional skills: At least 10 years of experience in the following: Supporting mainframe environments Technical expertise in mainframe environment software migration and maintenance processes Good automation experience using REXX is additionally desirable Being able to adapt to New Ways of Working (NWoW) techniques with Agile practices – JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, SPRINT, etc Base Technical skills and Exposure Application control of mainframe architecture, middle-ware and tooling.
