The Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Specialist to support our commercial function by delivering accurate, timely and relevant information, and performing a range of contract and procurement activities. You will coordinate with operations, finance and project controls, contribute to negotiations of key subcontracts and purchase orders, and ensure appropriate risk, flow-downs and compensation provisions are applied from the prime contract. You will provide commercial oversight for sustainment activities within the SPO, ensuring contract compliance, managing commercial risks, and supporting procurement and financial activities in line with Commonwealth policy. This role offers the opportunity to use your specialised knowledge to solve complex, unique problems in a high-profile Defence environment. Key Responsibilities Support tender development and response evaluation in accordance with ASDEFCON requirements. Assist with commercial and procurement functions in the sustainment areas. Plan, organise and develop procurement documentation, securing relevant internal approvals. Manage contractual, procurement and financial activities and relationships, including sustainment procurement through Direct Commercial Sales and Foreign Military Sales. Support commercial risk, opportunity and issue management. Assist with export controls and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance. Manage intellectual property and technical data in accordance with approved plans. Support contract performance reviews and client review inputs. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Qualifications & Experience Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role. Tertiary qualification in Business, Legal, Finance or similar, or equivalent professional experience. Experience in Defence and Commonwealth Government finance and contracting policies and practices. Defence procurement experience. Experience with MILIS and CARDS (highly desirable). Experience in financial planning, pricing, billing procedures and contract administration. SAP experience (desirable). Knowledge of export controls and ITAR compliance (desirable). Proficient in MS Office, with strong spreadsheet modelling skills. AGSVA NV1 security clearance (minimum) with the ability to obtain NV2.
