We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Advanced Analytics and Insights Consultant to join us in our Insights and Analytics Team in Brisbane,Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide on a Permanent Full-Time basis. Reporting to the Insights and Analytics Manager, the Advanced Analytics and Insights Consultant supports APA’s data and AI capabilities by developing business intelligence solutions, visualisations and advanced analytics to derive actionable insights. Working within a hub-and-spoke model, the role connects central analytics with business units to embed data-driven decision-making, drive efficiencies, and support growth. Key Responsibilities Gather and Translate Requirements – facilitate workshops and consult with stakeholders to understand business challenges, translating them into actionable analytics solutions. Drive Advanced Analytics Enablement – Empower business units through tailored training to support data literacy and self-service analytics tools on platforms such as Power BI and Databricks. Partner Directly with Business Units – Deliver custom analytics solutions by collaborating with teams that lack dedicated analytics support, ensuring insights align with operational goals. Support and enhance existing analytics solutions – Provide responsive and customer-focussed support for existing reports, dashboards and advanced analytics models. Develop Cutting-Edge Analytical Solutions – Apply AI/machine learning and predictive analytics where appropriate. Champion Data Governance & Quality – Uphold high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all analytics initiatives through better practice governance frameworks. Foster Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to modernise analytics approaches, improve processes, and nurture a data-driven culture across the organisation. Your Background Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly and translate business needs into data-driven outcomes. Expertise in advanced analytics and machine learning, with hands-on experience using tools like Python, and Databricks. Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data lakes, with the ability to build scalable analytical solutions. Has worked within an Enterprise Data Governance Framework. Experience with enterprise reporting tools like Power BI Strong understanding of SQL and data modelling for Business Intelligence Demonstrated problem-solving ability, critical thinking, and innovative mindset to uncover insights that drive business performance. A degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field, with 5 years of experience delivering impactful insights across complex environments.
