About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and driven Communications Specialist to join St Catherine's School. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver high quality communications that reflect the Principal’s tone of voice, the School's vision, and its strategic direction. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the successful candidate will ensure the School's brand and messaging are consistently represented across all channels of communication. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Community Engagement, the Communications Specialist will work closely with the Graphic Designer to produce engaging, accurate, and brand aligned content. With a focus on clarity, creativity, and precision, the role will support initiatives that enhance the School's profile, strengthen community connections, and foster stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, proven experience in content creation, and strong digital literacy. Professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to excellence are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines in a results driven environment. To be successful in this opportunity you will require: Key Selection Criteria Tertiary qualification in marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field. Prior independent school experience is preferred. Previous experience in publishing and communications in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work under pressure and respond quickly. Must be able to meet short deadlines. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Proven ability to research, write, edit and proof print and electronic media. Proficiency in using a website content management system (Wordpress). High level organisational skills, including a demonstrated ability to project manage and effectively prioritise competing demands. Demonstrated ability to contribute towards the creative direction of the School’s Marketing activities. Strong ICT skills with demonstrated proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop) would be desirable. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to maintain an effective working relationship with internal stakeholders (staff, students, community). Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Ability to complete all tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
