The Education and Property Upgrades Team within the Delivery – Health, Education, Justice Group is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to provide critical governance, administrative, financial and project management tasks to assist the team in meeting its project delivery requirements. Working closely with the Principal Project Manager under limited supervision, you will be responsible for reviewing reports and submissions, evaluating information, and taking appropriate action to support decision-making by the Executive Branch Manager. This role requires excellent prioritisation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, diverse team environment. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated extensive experience working on infrastructure projects, project management or other construction-related tertiary qualification. Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee all aspects of project planning, development, implementation and delivery for a range of complex projects. Demonstrated negotiation, liaison, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with inter-governmental agencies, stakeholders and suppliers. Demonstrated commitment to customer service principles and practices. Demonstrated sound understanding of project governance, risk management concepts, standards, methodologies and management tools in infrastructure projects. Knowledge of procurement for Government within the construction industry, including knowledge of Government procurement processes, or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. Demonstrated excellent strategic and analytical skills and the proven ability to supervise and mentor professional staff delivering multiple capital works projects. Behavioural Capabilities Ability to provide appropriate alternative strategic decisions or options within legislative, government and Directorate frameworks, standards and guidelines. Professional approach and with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders to develop and maintain effective working relationships within iCBR and across Government and industry to benefit the project/s. Effective and positive leadership of a diverse professional team to deliver a range of complex projects to a high standard in a planned and coordinated manner, while remaining responsive to changing priorities. Ability to work with limited guidance, and with decision-making authority within delegations and operating protocols. Mandatory Compliance Requirements / Qualifications Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or Hold a relevant building degree; or Have significant building or infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience. Notes: There is one permanent position available and several temporary positions available immediately until 30 September 2025 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
