An established mid-tier national firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its high-performing Construction team in Sydney. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, growing practice where you will gain broad exposure to front-end advisory, project delivery support and complex dispute resolution matters. About the team & role: Advise a diverse client base including principals, developers, subcontractors and consultants across mid-tier construction and infrastructure projects Work on a broad mix of matters: Front-end: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating standard form and bespoke construction contracts; providing ongoing project delivery advice Back-end: SOPA claims and adjudications, court litigation, arbitrations and expert determinations Collaborate within a specialist construction team that operates in smaller pods, providing you with direct partner access and the ability to build relationships across the wider team Immediate opportunity to work closely with a partner and special counsel on both front and back-end matters, with a preference for candidates with exposure to both areas. About you: 4–8 years’ PAE in building and construction law, with experience across front-end and/or back-end matters Confident understanding of SOPA legislation and experience in adjudications (acting for claimants and respondents) Skilled in drafting and negotiating construction contracts and working with expert witnesses on issues such as time, quantum, and defects Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and client-focused, with excellent time management and communication skills Comfortable working collaboratively within a close-knit team and eager to contribute to business development initiatives Why this opportunity?
