The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will work collaboratively with national Engineering resources to create opportunities; contribute to team projects; and deliver project work packages across multidisciplinary projects. They will provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to less experienced team members, and contribute to the professional development and transfer of knowledge within the team. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will also build our client's brand and networks with external stakeholders (e.g. government, clients, contractors) with a strong interface to industry, and contribute to the bidding, tendering and proposal processes. There will be some time spent on site as projects are underway and there may be the requirement to work remotely as required, however this will be on a limited basis as team collaboration and knowledge sharing is a key responsibility for this position. There may be the need to travel for this role – the incumbent will be required to attend client’s offices and work sites in a face-to-face capacity, or occasional visits to other offices. Requirements Must have a Bachelor of Engineering (Geotechnical / Civil) Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in a Geotechnical Engineering role, working on client projects in a hands-on capacity Professional Membership Engineers Australia (MIEAust) – ESSENTIAL People leadership experience, including the ability to assign work packages, provide coaching and professional development, and manage performance where formal reporting lines may not exist Strong communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to prepare documentation, drawings, spreadsheets and presentations to a high level Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes to find win-win solutions Ability to present confidently and with authority at client meetings Ability to problem solve and think critically and strategically Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite and virtual meeting and collaboration tools Working knowledge of AutoCAD software, and GE design applications (including Plaxis) Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet concurrent project deadlines Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team to meet project goals and operational targets Ability to provide, receive and apply constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement General Construction Induction Training card Current and valid Drivers’ Licence & amp; own transport Commitment to own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and learning
