Role Summary: The Chef is responsible for leading kitchen operations to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements of our residents. This hands-on role includes full responsibility for menu creation, stock ordering, and overall kitchen management, while ensuring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, food safety regulations, and budgetary requirements. Duties Include: Plan and develop seasonal menus that align with residents' preferences, nutritional needs, and the Australian Dietary Guidelines for older adults. Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring timely and high-quality meal preparation and service. Engage with residents to gather feedback and tailor menus accordingly. Order and manage stock to ensure adequate supply, minimise waste, and stay within budget. Oversee food safety and hygiene practices in line with HACCP and all regulatory requirements. Coordinate and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery. Manage and prepare special diets, including texture-modified and allergen-specific meals. Monitor food costs and work closely with management to meet financial targets. Ensure the kitchen environment is clean, organised, and audit-ready at all times. What's in it for you? Current and acceptable Police Certificate. Ability to work collaboratively with the team and engage positively with residents. Compassion and Empathy. Unlimited valid working rights in Australia - MANDATORY. Hospitality experience in an Aged Care setting or fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
