Position Summary: Key Duties: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy vehicles, plant equipment, and diesel-powered machinery to ensure safe and reliable operations across BMI Group sites. Required Skills & Experience: Repair machines or systems. Determine the causes of technical problems and find solutions for them. Maintain equipment on a routine basis. Determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Watch gauges, dials, and output to make sure a machine is working properly. Operate and control equipment. Inspect and evaluate the quality of products. Determine the tools and equipment needed to do a job. Required Skills & Experience: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent recognised qualification). Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience as a Diesel Mechanic. Demonstrated experience with heavy vehicles, quarry equipment, and earthmoving machinery. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Current manual driver’s licence (HR licence preferred). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety and environmental best practices. Salary: Competitive hourly rate: $40 – $60 per hour superannuation (dependent on skills and experience) in line with the Vehicle Repair, Services and Retail Award 2020. Hours of work: Full-time, Monday to Friday (overtime available where required).
