Welder/Fabricator – Light/Medium Gauge – MIG & TIG Are you a skilled welder who thrives in a varied, low-volume production environment? Our client is looking for someone just like you! We’re seeking experienced fabricator-welders who can do more than just lay a bead. If you understand the full fabrication process—from interpreting technical drawings to final assembly—and can work with minimal supervision, this could be the perfect fit. About the Role: MIG welding of mild and stainless steel is essential TIG welding (especially stainless/aluminium) highly regarded Fabrication of light to medium gauge materials – not heavy structural Small batch runs: mostly 1s, 5s, and 10s Fabricate from drawings with minimal direction Variety of work across different materials and products Bench/factory-based role (no site work) To be successful, you will have: Proven MIG welding experience Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Experience using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools Confident setting and using equipment such as drill presses, metal saws, and grinders Exposure to full fabrication: cutting, forming, welding Ability to ensure parts are dimensionally accurate and square Previous work in OEM or jobbing shops is a big plus Trade qualifications helpful but not required – experience is key Bonus Skills (advantageous but not essential): TIG welding stainless and/or aluminium Stainless steel polishing Using oxy-acetylene Press brake and sheet rolling experience What we're really looking for: You can work from a drawing, think through the job, problem-solve as needed, and deliver a high-quality finished product with minimal supervision.
