About the Role We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Vacation Rental Cleaners to ensure our suites are perfectly prepared for every guest's arrival. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining pristine cleanliness and an inviting atmosphere, consistently exceeding guest expectations. Career Pathway At Smart Suites, we assess each candidate during the initial interview and place them in the appropriate level based on experience and capability: Junior Cleaner (Entry Level): For those with little experience (3–12 months). You'll receive hands-on training, detailed checklists, and support as you learn our standards and processes. Cleaner ( Mid Level ): For cleaners with 1 year of professional cleaning experience—ideally with a background in hospitality, Airbnb, or hotel environments. You’ll be expected to work independently, meet quality and turnaround targets, and maintain a consistent level of service across varied property types. Senior Cleaner (Senior Level): For highly experienced cleaners with 1 year experience in short-term rental or hotel settings, plus proven leadership capability. In addition to core cleaning duties, you’ll handle deep cleans and bond cleans, conduct quality inspections, and training support. You’ll be matched to the appropriate tier and pay rate during onboarding, with clear pathways for growth as you develop. Key Expectations 1. Thoroughness Cleaners are expected to meticulously clean all designated areas, ensuring no dirt, dust, or grime is left behind. Every surface should reflect a consistently high standard of cleanliness. 2. Attention to Detail Special care must be taken to address corners, edges, and hard-to-reach areas. A keen eye for detail ensures that every suite meets our hospitality standards. 3. Timeliness All cleaning tasks must be completed within the agreed-upon timeframe. Prompt arrival and adherence to the schedule are essential. 4. Proper Cleaning Techniques Cleaners should apply industry-standard methods tailored to different surfaces and materials, guaranteeing effective and safe cleaning practices. 5. Safe Use of Cleaning Products Cleaning products must be handled responsibly, following manufacturer instructions. Knowledge of chemical safety and proper usage is required. 6. Respect for Property and Furnishings Care must be taken to avoid any damage to property, furniture, fixtures, or other items while cleaning. 7. Communication Any issues, damages , or maintenance concerns discovered during cleaning must be promptly reported to the company. 8. Adherence to Schedule Consistency is key. Any necessary changes to the cleaning schedule must be communicated in advance and approved. 9. Professionalism Cleaners must conduct themselves in a professional manner—wearing appropriate attire, using respectful language, and maintaining a positive demeanor while on-site. 10. Security Measures All security protocols must be followed, including securing doors and windows after cleaning, to ensure the safety of the property. 11. Flexibility Cleaners should adapt to reasonable changes in tasks or schedules, particularly during busy or holiday periods. 12. Client Satisfaction Services must meet or exceed company standards. Cleaners are expected to respond promptly to feedback and take corrective actions when required. Duties and Responsibilities General Cleaning Tasks 1. Dust all surfaces, including behind and underneath furniture, skirting boards, and cornices. 2. Pour a small amount of bleach down kitchen and bathroom sink drains. 3. Check all pots, dishes, and utensils for cleanliness and damage. Rewash if dirty and report any damage with photos. 4. Clean behind beds, bedside tables, TV units, and other furniture. 5. Dust and clean power points and light switches. 6. Clean kitchen benches, cupboards, sinks, stoves, ovens, microwaves, splashbacks , and the interior/exterior of fridges. 7. Dispose of any leftover food items. 8. Inspect and clean toasters and kettles; descale using vinegar monthly (followed by three cycles of boiling water to remove any residue). 9. Clean bathroom floors, toilets (including behind the toilet), showers, sinks, vanities (inside and out), and mirrors. 10. Dust and wipe all furniture, bedroom lamps, ledges, and toilet tanks. 11. Check inside all drawers and cupboards to ensure they are clean and free of hairs or debris. 12. Empty kitchen and bathroom bins; replace liners as needed. 13. Replace towels, linen, and tea towels with fresh ones. 14. Return all items (furniture, appliances, and décor) to their predefined places. 15. Turn off air conditioning units after cleaning. Vacuuming & Mopping 1. Vacuum and mop all floors, including under beds and sofas. 2. Inspect drawers, cupboards, and under furniture for any belongings left behind. Report any items found to the owner immediately.
