Please visit our website for more information about the Department of Home Affairs or Australian Border Force Our ideal candidate The APS5 Preparedness Program Support Officer contributes to supporting the coordination and delivery of cyber preparedness activities, reporting, and advice to ensure Australia is best positioned to respond to the opportunities and threats of the rapidly evolving cyber security landscape. The APS5 Operational Support Officer provides high-quality support to the NOCS, its stakeholders and impacted entities, to manage the consequences of significant cyber incidents and contributes to its effort to drive cyber security uplift across the Australian economy. The key duties of the position include The APS5 Policy Program Manager will be responsible for: providing high-quality support in the planning, design, organisation, coordination, delivery, and reporting of practical cyber security exercises and other preparedness projects/activities. coordinating and respond to exercise program enquiries/requests/issues. supporting the management of external stakeholders relationships with other government agencies and industry partners. assisting with the delivery of cyber consequence management exercises and undertake regular lessons management processes in order to support stakeholders to prevent, prepare for and respond to cyber security incidents. assisting with quality assurance activities to achieve quality outcomes. The APS5 Response Operational Officer provides support in the coordination and management of cyber security incidents, and will: support liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including industry, state and territory entities and international partners to coordinate cyber incident response activities, policy implementation or cyber security engagement. This may include secretariat duties and participation in committees and forums. assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of operational activities. maintain an in-depth understanding of the relationships and impacts of NOCS activities within existing cyber security arrangements in government, such as the Australian Government Crisis Management Framework (AGCMF). assist with various administrative tasks, including Current Incidents Report, Incident Tracker, filing of documents appropriately in TRIM folders, and managing section inbox. Additional information Desirable qualifications and/or skills for the role include: tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in cyber security, government relations, national security, law, law enforcement, intelligence, program management, and public administration. experience in writing strategic advice or communications products, including briefs and submissions for executive audiences.
