About the Role - Auditor: As an Auditor you will work under the direction of the Lead Auditor and Assistant Director - Audit and be responsible for conducting scheduled audits for Category 6 (residential) and Category 4 and 5 (home care) aged care providers. You will work as part of the audit team, collecting and analysing evidence and making recommendations about the level of conformance of providers as audited against the Aged Care Quality Standards. You will work collaboratively with the audit team to prepare an audit report. This is a pre-dominantly field based role visiting aged care services. About the Role - Lead Auditor As a Lead Auditor you will work under the direction of the Assistant Director - Audit and be responsible for conducting audits of Category 6 (residential) and Category 4 and 5 (home care) aged care providers. You will, as part of the Audit team, oversee the auditor/s on-site, analyse evidence and make recommendations about the level of conformance of providers as audited against the Aged Care Quality Standards. You will work collaboratively with the audit team to prepare an audit report. The Lead Auditor role has a direct line management responsibility of staff (APS5 Auditor). The key duties of the position include Auditor position duties include, but are not limited to: Conduct audits on-site to assess the performance of the aged care provider's systems and processes. Working in the field to collect and document evidence in alignment with the audit methodology and the audit plan. This includes conducting observations, document review and interviews with management, workers, older people and their representatives. Engage professionally with care delivery location workers, older people and their representatives. Contribute to an effective and efficient collaborative team approach, including actively participating in team meetings and effectively communicating with audit team members. Identify and escalate risk and issues to the Lead Auditor. Support the Lead Auditor to prepare for feedback meetings (on-site). Participate in closing meeting with the care delivery location management (on-site). Undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence. Actively participate in decision-making about evidence collection and conformance ratings and incorporate outcomes of decision-making into audit delivery and report writing. Collect and document evidence in Commission IT systems (such as a digital audit tool). Contribute to the drafting of the preliminary audit report. Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and privacy. Lead Auditor position duties include, but are not limited to: Lead the on-site component of audits to assess the performance of aged care provider's systems and processes. Working in the field to collect and document evidence in alignment with the audit methodology. This includes conducting observations, document review and interviews with management, workers, older people, and their representatives. Lead on-site audit delivery, including delegating tasks effectively, balancing workloads among auditors and providing appropriate guidance to team. Contribute to an effective and efficient collaborative team approach, including preparing for and leading audit team meetings and effectively communicating with audit team members. Identify, triage, and escalate risks and issues to the Assistant Director. Complete audit preparation and assist the Senior Audit Officer with audit planning. Conduct meetings with care delivery location staff (virtual/on-site). Communicate with care delivery management during the on-site audit delivery. Communicate audit team findings (conformance ratings) to care delivery location management. Undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence. Actively participate in decision-making about evidence collection and conformance ratings and incorporate outcomes of decision-making into audit delivery and report writing. Collect and document evidence in Commission IT systems (such as the digital audit tool) Contribute to the development of the preliminary audit report. Lead and manage staff (APS5 Auditor, direct report) including development, coaching, mentoring and building commitment to shared goals. Monitor audit progress and ensure the quality of audit delivery and audit reporting. Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and privacy.
