THE ROLE This position will lead the team employed to deliver the Care Support Help Desk (Help Desk). The position works closely with Child Protection, Care Services, Kinship Engagement Teams, Out of Home Care Service providers and peak organisations to support best outcomes for children in statutory care. The Help Desk team provides a critical role across all four Areas in undertaking care support activities for children in all care types with a focus of children entering care, to improve the consistency and timeliness of information, supports and document sharing, particularly critical identity documents for children in care such as birth certificates and Medicare cards. A dedicated phone line operates in each division as a contact point to assist carers to navigate care processes and assist in identifying placement vulnerabilities and escalate issues/concerns on behalf of carers to the most appropriate program/services. This position will coordinate the activities of the Help Desk team and provide supervision to the Help Desk team. The role will be part of the roster for the phone line and where appropriate work will be directed to the Help Desk team. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Provide advice and professional expertise to key internal and external stakeholders in areas of responsibility including critical policy, funding, and program development. Provide expertise and supervision of a team to support operational service delivery with practice consistency and quality assurance and facilitate access to appropriate expertise.
