Australian Retirement Trust is looking for a proactive and relationship-driven Business Development Specialist to engage with External Financial Advisers and grow our presence in the adviser channel. If you’re passionate about sales, customer service, and building long-term partnerships, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of superannuation in Australia. Why join us? You'll get 14% super as standard, to help your future come alive. Unleash your potential and build a career to be proud of through excellent training and development opportunities. Balance your work between in-person days at our purpose-built hubs and working from home. In the office, enjoy end of trip facilities, a yoga and multi-faith room, parent and carer rooms, quiet rooms, BrewHub coffee facilities, and collaborative team spaces. About the role We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a key member of our External Financial Advisers (EFA) team, you’ll drive engagement through phone-based business development activities—building rapport, trust, and loyalty with EFAs. You’ll articulate the value of ART’s products and services, support retention and growth of accumulation and pension funds under management and uncover new business opportunities through high adviser and industry engagement. This role would suit someone with experience and understanding of financial services—either in a sales role or someone currently in a support role looking to transition into sales. You’ll bring a strong understanding of how financial services work and be ready to apply that knowledge in a dynamic, growth-focused environment. Day to day, you'll: Drive growth and retention in ART’s accumulation and pension products through effective sales strategies. Contact and follow up on EFA leads from business reports, TPA reports, and the BDM team. Build strong phone-based relationships with EFAs, AFSL's, and industry associations. Manage a panel of EFAs to meet KPIs across quality and quantity measures. Respond to inbound queries and act as a subject matter expert on the EFA proposition. Keep EFAs informed of changes to ART’s offerings via phone and email. Run targeted phone campaigns to drive product sales, adviser registrations, and event attendance. Identify and elevate high-performing EFAs to the BDM panel. Map potential EFA panels and uncover new business opportunities. This role is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney . About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: You’ve worked in a phone-based role and know how to run a sales campaign from start to finish. You’ve got a strong track record in sales and consistently exceed your targets. You take a customer-first approach and own the outcomes you deliver. You’re comfortable speaking with business owners and senior stakeholders. You’re passionate about customer service and inspire others to deliver great experiences. You know how to influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes. You understand superannuation, insurance, investments, and business-to-business sales. You build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and third parties. You may be in a support role now, but you’re ready to step into sales and make your mark.
