Committed to excellence throughout its highly rated golf course, state of the art practice facilities and expansive clubhouse and surrounds, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic professional to join our team in the role of Vegetation Officer. kooyongagolf.com.au About the Role As the Vegetation Officer, you will be hands on in all aspects of the maintenance of existing indigenous, native and exotic trees and vegetation, with a strong focus on increasing biodiversity and increasing remnant vegetation on our 55ha property. The role will include monitoring of current vegetation and course maintenance plans, management of the club’s electronic vegetation management platform and involvement in the development of future vegetation and course maintenance plans. Supervision and training of staff in identification and maintenance tasks will also be a focus. To be successful in the position, experience and the following abilities are expected: Qualifications including Certificate 3 in a Horticultural area such as Parks and Gardens, Conservation, Land Management or Turf Management Revegetation and or Bush Care experience Carrying out a wide range of maintenance activities including planting, pruning and weeding Chemical and fertiliser handling and application experience Experience with a broad range of power tools including chainsaws, whippersnippers, hedgers etc Supervisory experience to carry out staff training and development Other desirable experience beneficial in the role includes but is not limited to: Weed, plant & fauna identification Plant propagation and seed collection Pest and disease identification Property maintenance experience, including walking paths, timber furniture and basic fencing Computer literacy with administrative competency The ability to be self-motivated, proactive, active and a supportive contributor in a team environment is critical to be successful in the role. The ideal candidate will bring excellent interpersonal, prioritisation and time management skills, be well presented, physically fit to undertake all duties and hold a current C class licence. This is a full time, 38 hour per week salary position, although flexibility in work hours and days exists with this role.
