Job Description Your Opportunity We’re looking for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Cloud, Data & Infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users. You’ll also make an impact by: Cloud Operations (BAU) - Manage Cuscal’s cloud platforms by applying the principles of site reliability engineering and DevOps to ensure they are reliable, secure, scalable, efficient and enable Cuscal to be ‘fastest to market’ Ensure 24x7 Incident response and recovery operates within agreed SLA. Manage the support request queue, ensuring request are resolved within SLA. Foster a security & risk management culture that proactively identifies risks and maintains platforms within security guidelines and risk appetite. Manage the DevOps pipeline, tooling and process Implement effective monitoring and observability systems to foresee and prevent incidents, maximise Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and minimise mean time to recover (MTTR) when incidents do occur. Develop best practice troubleshooting and incident response skills within the team Cloud Financial Management Vendor Management Continuous Improvement Resource Management Relationship Management Reporting Qualifications What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you’ll have: 5 years’ experience in a hands-on technical role & 2 years people management experience Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Implementing/supporting automated DevOps processes and toolchain (i.e. Source Control, Packaging, Configuration, CI/CD, Testing Release Management, etc) to support automated DevOps Pipelines in a multi-cloud hybrid environment Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies Experience using scripting languages such as JSON, Yaml, Python & Bash Hands-on experience managing cloud compute engines, networking, storage, and other cloud-services that align with modern cloud native standards Current with industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices, and able to identify those that Cuscal should implement. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly Ability to drive pragmatic, innovative, uplift, and continuous improvement of the operations function. Customer Centricity – demonstrated ability to “Work Backwards” from the customers perspective, empathising with their needs and delivering mutually beneficial outcomes.
