The role ALS Geochemistry is seeking a Maintenance All Rounder to join our Maintenance team based in Malaga . This full-time position reports to the Facilities Manager and would suit someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and willing to take on a wide range of general maintenance tasks within a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on diverse building projects that go beyond carpentry or construction. Experience or knowledge in additional trades, such as welding, plumbing, tiling, painting, or demolition, will be highly regarded. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure a thorough understanding of routine laboratory equipment maintenance, with a strong emphasis on compliance with ALS Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies. Strong communication skills are essential, as the successful applicant will regularly liaise with maintenance team members, section supervisors, and Facilities Management to report and resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your skillset and gain experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of on-site equipment. The essentials A strong background in Carpentry and/or Joinery. Ability to read drawings, build small structures, stud walls, hang doors etc. is essential. Current driver's licence (C class) manual. Flexibility to travel between sites in the Perth region using own transport. Some mechanical experience would be beneficial but not essential. Knowledge and skills in other trades or a desire to learn. Flexibility to do occasional overtime on weekends. The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, while being committed to working as a team. Excellent work ethic. Proven ability to handle a diverse workload.
