About the role DroneShield is seeking a User Interface/User Experience Designer (mid-level) with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, New South Wales. Reporting to the Digital Design Lead, this role offers a unique opportunity for a results-driven individual to deliver user-centric solutions within the defence sector. The role involves designing for multiple software platforms, including DroneShield’s Command-and-Control (C2) platform, Product Device Managers and the DroneShield Access Portal. The UI/UX designer is responsible for keeping UI design consistent across different platforms and communicate complex data and concepts to users with minimal training. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Design user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity visuals using Figma Support the Senior UI/UX Designer in optimising existing interfaces Design features and improvements from concept to implementation, collaborating with other teams Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions Adhere to and maintain DroneShield’s design system and UI standards Interpret detailed briefs to deliver intuitive, user-centric solutions, iterating on designs based on feedback Maintain strong attention to detail and user experience throughout the design lifecycle Manage timelines and priorities in an agile environment, balancing ad-hoc requests while maintaining high-quality output Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines Qualifications, Experience and Skills Bachelor's degree in a UI/UX design-related field, or equivalent practical experience – suitable for recent graduates Proficiency in Figma and UI/UX design best practices Strong conceptual thinking, interaction, and visual design skills Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple projects Experience in Agile/Scrum workflows Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to justify design decisions and advocate for user needs Knowledge of website design and/or front-end web development Make sure you upload your portfolio in cover letter section when you apply.
