About the Role In the role of Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate a leisure & lifestyle program for every individual resident. These programs may be group or individually oriented, providing psychosocial and/or physical stimulation to each resident’s interests and level of ability, and focus on enhancing the lifestyle of each resident by considering their holistic, social, cultural, emotional and spiritual needs. Key Role Accountabilities: Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues and ensuring any queries, comments, suggestions, regarding resident care and progress or concerns raised are managed or reported promptly. Positively contribute to the warmth and welcoming culture of the Home through the delivery of customer centric care Assist and support residents to attain and maintain their optimum degree of independence, dignity, privacy and quality of life. Within the scope of qualifications and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, assess, plan, implement and regularly evaluate a range of innovative lifestyle and activity programs to meet the specific needs of the residents and their families, in order to facilitate participation and positive outcomes. Prepare and lead individual and group social and recreational activities encompassing the cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents. Assist in the education, co-ordination and supervision of volunteers Identify and respond to individual needs of residents; Attend, participate in and/or facilitate resident meetings as required. Liaise with appropriate staff members, service providers and relatives regarding resident care and progress. Document/report ongoing progress of residents and programs. Coordinate, facilitate and supervise programs for the residents with a community involvement focus. Ensure the ongoing compliance of the Leisure and Lifestyle team with workplace health and safety requirements, requirements of the aged care sector and organisational policies and procedures, and promote continuous quality improvement processes. Attend and participate in regular meetings with other Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinators to facilitate the sharing of resources. About You Experience of working in a similar role within Aged Care, Home and Community Care and/or Disability Support Specialist communication skills in order to build strong relationships with residents with varying needs/abilities. Demonstrated understanding of specialist needs, particularly dementia. Experience with technology including smartphones, tablets, laptops etc Good interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with team members Customer service skills with a demonstrated desire to help people with sensitivity and understanding. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills at a level to understand instructions received and be understood. Desirable: Specialised qualifications in areas of dementia, music, art or other skills related to Leisure and Lifestyle Aromatherapy Certificate What makes a difference for us: Certificate IV Leisure and Lifestyle or an equivalent qualification Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQ Limited Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement.
