If so, our client, a fast-growing manufacturing company in the Newcastle area, is looking for a Production Manager to join their senior management team. The Opportunity This permanent full-time position will be responsible for leading all aspects of production operations from end-to end, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing and fit-out of these tailor-made products to meet established quality and standards in accordance with customer and stakeholder expectations. This position develops and implements efficient production processes, maintains high quality standards, optimises resource management, and fosters continuous improvement. You will drive operational excellence, and timely project delivery in alignment with business objectives. Key responsibilities of this role include: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, WHS standards and maintain risk management strategies to ensure a secure work environment. Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders including design, engineering, sales and procurement teams to ascertain production capabilities, feasibility and efficiency; and communicate any challenges and updates regularly. Maintenance and continuous improvement of quality control standards, ensuring product integrity by implementing inspection processes and corrective action plans. Develop and manage production budgets, identifying cost saving opportunities by optimising resource utilisation, reducing waste and inefficiencies, monitoring costs, labour efficiency and material usage to drive profitability Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain material availability and identify and mitigate risks related to stock shortages, delays, and excess inventory. Drive investment in new technologies and automation to enhance production capabilities Oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of equipment and facilities by implementing preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Requirements Qualification in trades, operation management, engineering, production management or equivalent practical experience. 5 years’ experience as a production manager or a similar Background in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production optimisation Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive high performance teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams Experience in developing and managing production schedules, budgets, and quality control measures If you are passionate about the manufacturing industry and are looking to use your exceptional people and operational management skills, please APPLY.
