About the Role The Training Assistant supports the effective delivery of The ORCA Project – WMQ’s Work Skills Training service – by assisting with workshops and structured activities that promote engagement, learning, and skill development for young people who benefit from additional support in achieving their work readiness goals. The Training Assistant provides support and assistance to participants and the Employment Coaches. Key Role Accountabilities: Consistently model workplace behaviours that reflect WMQ’s Charter, Vision, Mission, and Values. Assist in the facilitation and delivery of The ORCA Project - Work Skills Training service - for a diverse cohort of participants, working collaboratively with Employment Coaches and volunteers. Demonstrate awareness of individual learning styles and needs, adjusting content and delivery methods and developing resources to maximise engagement. Provide one-on-one support to participants during work experience placements, fostering confidence, skill development, and positive workplace engagement. Organise workdays to ensure optimal use of time and resources, contributing to the achievement of service outcomes. Deliver excellent customer service and actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, including compliance with Work Health & Safety (WH&S) standards. Provide timely and accurate communication and reporting to management, as required. Perform all duties in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission framework, ensuring the safety, rights, and wellbeing of participants are prioritised About You Completion of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You” and “New Worker – NDIS Induction Modules” An understanding of issues, barriers and support requirements relating to employment for adults with disability Hold a current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card/ Exemption Cards Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQL policy Willingness to work within the Philosophy, Policies and Procedures of Wesley Mission Queensland Limited Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQL Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement What makes a difference for us: Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQ Limited Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement.
