The Opportunity Fixed Term Contract – until August 2026, with potential for extension Location: Melbourne / Hybrid We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer with expertise in Microservices Architecture to join our engineering team and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for our enterprise clients, including those in the Telco sector. What You’ll Do Software Development & Architecture Design and develop microservices-based applications using Java and Spring Boot Build and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven services Implement scalable and resilient backend systems using best practices Collaborate on system architecture and contribute to technical strategy Collaboration & Delivery Work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and mentoring activities Ensure code quality, performance, and security standards are met Innovation & Best Practices Evaluate and integrate modern tools and frameworks to enhance development workflows Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in distributed systems What You’ll Bring Proven experience as a Java Developer in enterprise or consulting environments Strong expertise in Microservices Architecture and distributed systems Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and API design Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and container platforms Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices Understanding of security protocols (OAuth2, JWT) and API governance Experience with agile methodologies and collaborative development Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Why Join Skillfield?
