Initial 6 Month Contract – Government Agency CBD Location – Hybrid Working Arrangement Complex Data Migration Project Initial 6 Month Contract – Government Agency CBD Location – Hybrid Working Arrangement Complex Data Migration Project This Victorian government is seeking a Data Migration Project Manager to lead and deliver end-to-end data migration initiatives across critical business systems. The role will manage the planning, execution and stakeholder engagement for complex data migration projects. Key Activities Lead the full lifecycle of data migration projects from planning through execution to post-implementation support Successful delivery of assigned projects. Responsibility for the definition, documentation, and satisfactory delivery of the agreed objectives and outcomes and issues. Work closely with Data Architects, Business Analysts, SMEs, and Technical Teams to define migration strategies, data mapping, and validation frameworks Management of key internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of the project Define and manage data quality assurance and reconciliation activities post-migration. Identify, assess, and manage the risks to the success of the project including dependencies across projects, political, business impact, and technical complexity Ensure that realistic project, budget, schedule, risk/issue, quality, change, communications and training plans are prepared and maintained Provide regular and accurate updates to the steering committee/s and other stakeholders as required Skills And Experience 8 years’ experience in large, complex data migration projects. Solid technical background within data space with an ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues Strong understanding of data migration methodologies, ETL processes, and data quality management. Strong facilitation and coordination skills Vendor management and engagement skills Proven confidence in verbal communication with the successful ability to deal with a wide range of diverse stakeholders Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is desirable.
