We are searching for an Energy Business Manager is to maximise the capital value and net income of the energy business. The energy business includes embedded portfolio networks at Darwin, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek Airports. The Energy Business Manager is expected to make a substantial contribution towards the achievement of ADG’s aspiration for airport operations to become net zero by 2030. Develop annual operating budgets and provide regular reports on performance. Lead the development of feasibility assessments for new or upgraded energy solutions to suit the needs of ADG and existing / future customers. Prepare a 5-year business unit strategy for ADG’s energy assets with the objective of maximizing the capital value and net operating income performance of ADG’s energy business. Develop and act as principal for the energy assets annual budget including revenue and cost management. Assess and review data trends impacting net operating income. Benchmark performance of the energy assets against other similar/or competing assets. Monitor industry trends in energy provision to ensure that the level of service provision is in line with or exceeds industry trends. Monitor NT electricity market developments and recommend opportunities. Identify required capital upgrades, prioritise those capital upgrades and maintain a lifecycle capital expenditure forecast for the energy assets. Forecast future revenue and operating expenses and take measures to maximise net operating income over the life of the asset strategy. Procure and monitor wholesale energy supply contracts on behalf of ADG. Identify, develop and negotiate energy supply agreements with ADG’s retail customers. Monitor pricing across ADG’s portfolio of retail customers to ensure 100% compliance with existing agreements. Negotiate agreements with 3 rd party service providers to provide portfolio level services (including meter monitoring) of ADG energy assets. Lead the implementation of a best-in-class data analysis package to enable live monitoring of the performance of ADG’s energy assets. Substantially contribute towards ADG’s aspiration for Airport operations to become net zero by 2030. Lead strategy to monitor and optimise the energy performance across the portfolio of ADG’s fixed assets, including terminal, hotels and property. Act as project sponsor and work with external consultants, the facilities team, and the project management team to seamlessly execute new capital and upgrades to existing renewable energy assets or new solar and battery assets. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including the Electrical, Facilities, Environmental, Finance, Legal, and Project Management Teams to achieve the primary objectives of the role. Ensure ADG are appropriately licenced (e.g. Generator licence, retail licence, etc) in the markets in which it operates and ensure compliance is maintained. Identify, assess, and manage risk through application of ADG Risk Management Framework. Promote a safety and environmentally conscious culture by ensuring environmental and safety risks are identified, assessed, and treated. Experience & Qualifications Proven experience in developing and implementing business unit strategies for energy assets. Demonstrated experience in managing embedded portfolio networks across multiple locations. Experience in completing feasibility studies for new energy assets and upgrades. Demonstrated experience in negotiating energy procurement and retailing agreements. Proven experience in championing a portfolio NABERS enhancement strategy and successfully achieving ESG objectives. Knowledge of best-in-class energy data collection practices and analysis. Insight and relationships in the NT energy market. Relevant tertiary level qualifications (Degree and/or Masters) ·Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity. Excellent written communication skills. Strong financial analysis skills. Ability to influence key stakeholders and achieve ADG’s ambition to become an energy supplier of choice.
