An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Environmental Consultant to join our well respected Environmental Approvals, Closure and Management team from our established Perth office. Our Perth team is fun loving, friendly and works on a wide variety of projects across renewables, critical minerals, infrastructure, urban development and more. Our Perth team works closely with our amazing team in Darwin, so there is opportunity to work on WA and NT projects – double the variety! In the role, you’ll gain hands-on experience whilst learning from our team’s expertise and developing client relationships throughout the region. You’ll also collaborate on exciting initiatives and work alongside other disciplines across the business. We’re looking for someone self-motivated and eager to grow. We’ll support you in developing your technical skills, project management capabilities, and confidence in producing high-quality documentation. Job tasks and responsibilities Building and maintaining effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members Contribute to the preparation of environmental impact assessments and licence applications Work alongside our Planning team on urban and energy infrastructure projects Assist our accredited auditors with desktop and site audits and inspections Assisting with the development of environmental management Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports Occasional travel to undertake field studies and short secondments opportunities may become available. Skills and experience A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field Recently graduated or hold 1-3 years experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting. The ability to work autonomously, and the drive to learn from a variety of exciting projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills Full working rights in Australia A valid Driver’s License. The following would be highly valued, but are not pre-requisites: Working knowledge of WA, NT and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines would be a benefit Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors.
