The role of Line Management is to implement and sustain an effective EHS management system throughout their business. The role of EHS Staff is to establish the framework for the EHS program, and to actively engage with the Line Management in developing, implementing and sustaining the program. Responsible for performing an assessment of risk of his/her work activities, taking corrective action and preventative actions as necessary, properly using and maintaining assigned control measures and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsible for immediately reporting all incidents (injuries, illnesses, near misses, spills etc…), hazardous conditions and emergencies to his/her supervisor. To report to his/her supervisor any conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards. To participate in EH&S training programs and will take personal responsibility for his/her own safety. Actively support (and in the case of managers lead) the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans Recommend improved EH&S practices. PERSON SPECIFICATION PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES: PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Minimum 2 years Experience in the Fire Protection Industry including: Fire Hose Reels, Fire Extinguishers and Fire Hydrants and be able to obtain industry accreditation (mandatory). Cert II in Asset Maintenance – Fire Protection Systems with the relevant Cert III modules completed for the industry competency qualification. Experience in Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems and other Fire disciplines (preferred) Current Driver’s Licence (mandatory) Up to date product and industry knowledge, and an understanding of where to locate the relevant information A sound knowledge of the applicable Australian Standards relevant to Fixed Systems fire protection equipment Professional experience or qualifications specified by any applicable local classification structure.
