Company : Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd About the Role Hastings Deering is on the hunt for a Structural Specialist to join our team in Mackay or Rockhampton reporting to our Maintenance and Engineering Manager- Dragline & Electric Rope Shovels. This is a Permanent, Monday to Friday role. The key focus of this position is to provide support and direction to both internal and site-based teams through technical structural services for Draglines and Electric Rope Shovels. As a Structural Specialist, you will: Work collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels with provision of status reports Provide on-site technical expertise to diagnose and repair advanced s tructural failures /modifications or upgrades , ensuring work is completed to the correct equipment specifications Ensure s tructural audit inspections align with OEM specifications and risk-based decisions are accurate & prioritised correctly Provide supervision support for customers major outages and shutdowns through technical guidance . Assist with scope development, review and co-ordination of customers major asset s tructural component repairs & overhauls Assist with customer maintenance, reliability and improvement teams on improvement projects Review costs of proposed s tructural repairs/upgrades and provide OEM support / information / on upgrades Troubleshoot and generate methods for repair of complex structural issues. Paid parental leave options Salary continuance insurance About You A successful teammate will have: Demonstrated experience with mining maintenance activities on Draglines and Electric Rope Shovels Trade qualified Boilermaker/ Boomwelder and or tertiary qualifications in Structural Engineering desirable IWI-S International Welding Inspector - Standard qualification would be highly desirable Understanding material specifications, and the requirement to tailor solutions to each specific situation or repair in alignment with the designated specifications.
