The role If you have always wanted to use your legal skills, industrial relations experience or building industry knowledge to have a direct and positive impact then this role may of strong interest to you. In this role you will directly advise HIA members, over the phone and by email, across a diverse range of compliance disciplines including employment and industrial relations, contract management and administration, dispute resolution, work health and safety, and builder registration. You will have the opportunity to meet members face-to-face in providing advice, through involvement in committees, as well as the preparation and delivery of training and presentations on key business compliance issues. Supporting and representing the interests of our members is a core value of HIA. In this role you may be given opportunities to assist HIA lobby governments and regulators and formulate policy submissions. The candidate The successful person will possess and demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes: passionate about helping people, enjoy practical problem solving and using your initiative. strong stakeholder management, people engagement and effective communication skills. Self-motivated, with capability to work independently, and across a geographically dispersed team. tertiary qualification in legal, industrial relations, construction, or a related discipline. a good working knowledge of workplace relations law and/or construction law (desirable).
