Your new role We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Public Law team as Managing Principal Lawyer - Administrative Law & Legislation on a full-time ongoing basis. Reporting to the Director, Public Law, Policy & Oversight, the role will lead a team that is responsible for providing legal advice on all administrative law matters and legal advice associated with legislative reform matters affecting or involving IBAC. Duties include: Provide complex legal advice, including liaison and negotiation with stakeholders, to support IBAC and its business units meet their statutory obligations. Provide day to day leadership and management, guidance and development to a team of Lawyers and legal support staff, maintaining appropriate levels of resources and managing leave requests. Manage and develop team members and review complex legal advice, reports, correspondence, policies and procedures. Ensure customer service and legal related activities are relevant, accurate, timely and in accordance with industry standards (best practice). Our requirements / Your skill set We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities: Current practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law, or eligibility to immediately acquire a practising certificate. Experience managing a team of legal practitioners. Extensive legal experience is essential, preferably in administrative law and legislative reform.
