Woods Stockfeeds part of the WOODS group, is looking for a full time HD Mechanic to join their team in Queensland. Job Duties • Repair, maintain and test motor vehicle and other internal combustion engines and mechanical parts • Conducting fault test and detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts • Run and analyse diagnostic tests on vehicle engines • Dealing with the removal of engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components • Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired • Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for optimum performance • Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers • May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and clients to provide updates on repair progress or any potential issues. • Measure parts to ascertain the extent of the damage and wear and tear and then repair or replace the parts. The Role: The successful candidate should have the following range of skills and qualifications: • At least 3 years in the similar role • Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety • High attention to detail and display a positive & self-motivated attitude • Good management skills and has the ability to work with minimal supervision and work in a team environment • Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques, tools, and diagnostic equipment • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills • A positive attitude with proven work ethic • Great Teamwork • Excellent communication skills • High level of attention to detail • Be physically fit and able to undertake a mandatory pre-employment medical and/or drug and alcohol testing.
