What's the role? Medium Rare is Australia’s leading content agency. We are looking for a performance-driven Digital & Social Lead to cover a 12-month maternity leave. You’ll create, manage, and publish multi-channel digital and social content for business and finance brands. You will be responsible for amplifying existing content and producing engaging, insightful social and audio content that connects with the audience. This role is both hands-on and strategic, acting as the key digital and social lead on the account. We need someone with strong stakeholder management skills, deep knowledge of digital and social platforms, and a proactive approach to channel updates and algorithm changes. A creative mindset is essential to keep our client ahead in content. Key Responsibilities: ● Content planning, scheduling, publishing and reporting ● Uploading digital content into the CMS ● Managing, briefing and project managing long-form immersive digital content ● Creating compelling audio editions/versions of digital content ● Socialising digital content across an array of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook will be priority platforms) ● Collaborating with designers on social tiles and animated videos, providing content/copy direction in addition to references, scripts and storyboards ● Occasional interviewing of talent on the set of photoshoots, creating trend- inspired original social-first content that’s edu-taining and insightful ● Monthly/quarterly/six-monthly/yearly performance reporting, providing expert analysis and recommendations to support the data and next month’s output ● Weekly reporting for advertising partners’ social, digital and edm performance ● Championing digital, social and audio knowledge internally and externally; being the point of excellence and confident expert in these channels ● Proactively ensuring you’re up-to-date with the latest channel updates and best practices ● Optimising digital and magazine content to rank in search and AI ● Producing weekly edms, based on editorial recommendations Who are you? ● You will have 7 years’ on-the-job experience in digital and social ● You will have worked previously in a senior digital and/or social role for a client, agency or publisher ● You live and breathe digital and social platforms and performance, recognising the nuances of search vs social and understanding how and why your audience consumes content on different platforms ● You understand the changing nature of SEO and AEO and the need to upskill and pivot at the right time. ● You’ll have an innate understanding of the sweet spot between content the audience wants to consume, and what the client’s business objectives are ● You can think both creatively and analytically, and have a clear understanding of content KPIs and measuring success on digital and social ● You take pride in your ability to take one piece of content and come up with multiple ways to ‘sell it’ on different platforms that will engage audiences in different ways ● You’re just as comfortable creating content (e.g. interviewing talent or shooting a low-fi video on your phone) as you are briefing video or audio editors to get the desired result ● You can not only report on performance data, but translate the results into digestible insights that help inform your approach ● You’ll have experience managing and curating an always-on content calendar for social channels ● You’re proficient in Google and Adobe Analytics, search optimisation tools such as SEMrush, as well as social platforms LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok and social management and listening tools such as Hootsuite News Benefits News Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
