This role encompasses both promotional activities and administrative support, including ticketing operations, front-line customer service, and general office duties. A core responsibility of the role is to collaborate with artists and organizations to coordinate promotional efforts and manage additional event-related requirements. The position also involves working closely with co-located services within the Recreation and Cultural Facilities Team to ensure cohesive promotional strategies. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to build and maintain positive relationships, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Adaptability is essential, as the role evolves with the implementation of new systems and practices to uphold contemporary standards across the venue. Key Deliverables Providing high quality customer service as the first point of contact for managing customer enquiries and ticket sales both over the phone and face to face Leading the MCC team for all ticket sales requirements and training staff in the use of relevant software to enable shared knowledge of the function Create high quality, vibrant and modern social media and promotional materials appropriate for a diverse community across a range of platforms Ensure quality promotional and communication standards are met with adherence to branding guidelines in all marketing and correspondence Update social media applications and E: communication platforms Support venue hire bookings for facilities across City Property, ensuring prompt processing in line with hire conditions Support the MCC volunteer program Willingness to participate and work across the Recreation and Cultural Facilities sites, promoting a positive image of Council Accurately record, prepare and disseminate data, customer correspondence, quotes, invoice, marketing material in accordance with Council’s record management policy and systems Person Specification Essential criteria A great place to work Position Description – Administration and Promotions Officer - MCC June 2025 Proficiency with a variety of graphic design software and a strong understanding of design Ability to use social media applications and E: communication platforms Advanced communication skills both written and verbal Ability to communicate effectively and work with a diverse range of customers Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Flexibility to meet changing priorities and variable working duties and hours, as some out of hours including weekend and evenings will be required Ability to work in a positive team environment across multiple sites Commitment to provide high level of customer services to both internal and external customers Ability to build strong work relationships with a wide range of stakeholders Desirable criteria Prior experience working in theatre box office and ticketing operations Proven ability to innovate and think creatively Experience working with cross-functional teams Previous experience an administration environment Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Adobe suite Standard conditions Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance (will be arranged by the City of Marion) Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment (will be arranged by the City of Marion) Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia, with the ability to provide documentation of a valid work visa Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and apply “Think Safe Live Well” philosophy Embrace ethical and moral behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud and/or corruption in accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the Code of Conduct Adhere to the City of Marion Values The incumbent will perform other duties as required A great place to work Position Description – Administration and Promotions Officer - MCC June 2025 Other conditions specific to the role Must hold a valid, full (unrestricted) driver's license in accordance with South Australian requirements This is a prescribed position as defined by the City of Marion Safe Environments for Children and Vulnerable Persons Policy.
