Senior Associate – Workplace Relations, Education & Safety (Melbourne & Sydney) A national law firm's Workplace Relations, Education & Safety team is expanding, seeking Senior Associates for both its Melbourne and Sydney locations. The roles involve managing complex matters including employment, industrial relations, equal opportunity, student safety and wellbeing, duty of care, and stakeholder management within independent education. Ideal candidates are those with a strong commercial mindset, technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide employment advice on a variety of issues, including employment commencement, performance management, termination, equal opportunity, and workplace safety. Draft contracts and legal documents. Negotiate and lodge Enterprise Agreements. Offer guidance on award coverage and enterprise agreement interpretation. Handle litigation cases related to employment and discrimination. Advise on compliance with reporting schemes and manage student safety and wellbeing. Engage in stakeholder and media management. Conduct research to stay updated on employment law changes. Participate in business development and client relationship-building activities. Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and graduates. Contribute to learning and development programs. Ensure cybersecurity awareness and practices. Skills and Experience: 4–5 years’ experience in workplace relations law. Experience in the education sector is advantageous. Strong drafting skills and ability to manage diverse workload. Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically.
