Located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Physics Exciting opportunity to join the leading physics department in the country Base Salary $103 ,185 - $ 111,237 (HEO6) pro rata 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Physics is currently seeking a part time Project Manager - Astralis USYD to support Astralis projects by providing operational project management support and advice to ensure the efficient implementation of project plans, activities, and tasks across multiple workstreams. In this role you will liaise with various project stakeholders, fostering effective communication to ensure the successful achievement of project deliverables. Responsibilities will include monitoring milestones and deliverables, managing interactions with stakeholders, handling logistics such as meetings and events, and assisting with financial reporting and budget tracking. The role also involves resolving issues, adapting plans as needed, and performing additional duties within the scope of the position. Astralis Instrumentation Consortium (Astralis) is Australia’s national optical instrumentation capability drawing on experience, expertise and facilities from three leading universities – The University of Sydney, Macquarie University, and the Australian National University. Astralis-USyd is composed of a group of high-tech laboratories that focus on different aspects of astrophotonics: optical fiber fabricating and testing and development and modification of existing photonics technologies as well as their direct implementation to astronomical instruments. Astralis-USyd currently is building 6 astronomical instruments and the resources (both staff, equipment, lab space etc) will be managed by this role to ensure all projects deliver on their milestones.
