The role We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement and Contracts Officer (Business Support – Centre Led Procurement) to support the delivery of consistent, high-quality procurement and contract management practices across our organisation. This is a key role within our centre-led Procurement team, focusing on partnering with internal stakeholders to achieve optimal procurement outcomes that align with policy, legislation, and community expectations. Working closely with the Team Leader Procurement, you will support the development and implementation of standardised procurement processes, contribute to complex tenders and RFx activities, and assist in managing supplier performance. Your ability to build strong relationships and apply a keen eye for detail will be critical to success in this role. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation, issue, and finalisation of RFx activities, focusing on high-value and complex procurement projects. Lead and participate in RFx planning sessions, evaluation panels, and supplier selection processes. Draft and review contractual documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Council policy and relevant legislation. Develop and manage pre-qualified supplier panels and support other business units in doing the same. Monitor changes in procurement legislation and contribute to internal communications and resource updates. Partner with stakeholders to identify procurement strategies that deliver value for money and reduce supply chain costs. Support contract performance management, including implementing performance measures and resolving supplier issues. What you'll bring Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation. Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to contract and procurement documentation. Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management, ideally within a public sector or regulated environment. Sound understanding of procurement legislation, policies, and probity principles. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Salary: Commencing salary package circa $74,750 p.a. plus superannuation. (Dependent on skills and experience.) Tenure: Permanent, Full Time. What we offer?
