The key duties of the position include The Role The Land Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Electronic Warfare (LISREW) Program is seeking a Project Manager who is able to conduct complex project management operations within an integrated workforce consisting of members of the Australian Defence Force, Australian Public Service and Contracted personnel. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and be compliant with legislative frameworks, government decision-making processes and Defence's mission and policy requirements, and be capable of holding a TOP SECRET Negative Vetted (NV) Level Two (2) security clearance. Our Project Manager will work independently, with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of work outcomes. They will be required to exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy, and in the application of LISREW business practices and procedures. The LISREW Project Manager will be responsible for several key outputs including the provision of detailed project management planning and advice; technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work packages in the LISREW Program; and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development lines-of-effort. As a Project Manager, the successful candidate will conduct considerable stakeholder engagement on a range of complex, technical issues. The Project Manager will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work, unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable for contributing towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. Approximately 30% of the Project Manager role will focus on supporting LISREW program-level governance. This includes coordinating governance forums, contributing to the preparation of high-quality briefs and artefacts, maintaining registers (such as risks, issues, decisions, and actions), and supporting consistent governance practices across the program, nested beneath Branch and Division policy and guidelines. The successful candidate will assist in enabling risk-informed decision-making by ensuring accurate and timely reporting is provided to the programs senior leadership and governance bodies. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
