Make an Impact As the Inclusive Café Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in empowering people with disability to develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed to move into mainstream employment. Working alongside the Inclusive Café Coordinator, you’ll lead day-to-day café operations while creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment. You’ll provide hands-on vocational support and mentoring to team members with disability, helping them work towards their individual employment goals. With a strong focus on customer service, food safety, and leadership, you’ll help ensure the café delivers great service, maintains high standards, and operates as a vibrant, purpose-driven social enterprise. Key duties of this role are to: Support people with disability to develop skills and confidence through meaningful café work. Mentor and guide team members to achieve individual NDIS employment goals and outcomes. Delegate café tasks aligned with safe work practices and commercial service standards. Prepare and serve quality food and beverages while maintaining cleanliness and presentation. Operate POS systems, handle cash and card payments, and manage customer orders. Assist with inventory, stocktake, and supplier coordination to support café operations. Partner with Employment Coaches to deliver on-the-job training and skill development. Foster an inclusive, supportive team culture focused on personal growth and teamwork. What you can bring to the team You will bring strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others, communicate clearly, and foster a positive, inclusive team culture. Flexibility, initiative, and a calm, solutions-focused approach are essential in this fast-paced café environment. To succeed in this role, you will have: Proven experience supervising teams in a café or customer-focused environment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Ability to mentor and support people with disability, helping them develop confidence and employment skills in a real-world setting. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements, with a commitment to maintaining high standards. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate across teams. Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities, with a proactive mindset and attention to detail. Comfortable using Microsoft Office and café systems (such as POS), with the ability to manage time and tasks effectively. You will be required to undertake a “Fit2Work” National Criminal History Check and hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
