Position Overview The Judgments Officer assists with the publication of judgments and is part of a small national team. The position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, initiative and co-operative teamwork within the busy environment of the Courts. The position also requires an understanding of the importance of legal publishing standards, data integrity and the impact of metadata on search retrieval. The key duties of the position include Duties include: Monitoring and actioning emails in Judgments group mailbox. Monitoring the formatting of documents to ensure security, accuracy and consistency, and amending them in some cases. Allocation of Medium Neutral Citation numbers and pseudonyms. Uploading and amending records in judgments databases. Distributing judgments to AustLII and legal publishers. Creation of judgment alerts. Liaising with and assisting Judges' Associates with regard to the technical aspects of judgments production including the judgment template and style guide. Anonymising final versions of family law judgments prior to publication. Participating in judgment related projects.
