Description Role details: ICT Infrastructure Support Officer Permanent Full-Time, 8am to 4pm, with 1 day remote per week. Works throughout the year including school holidays (when we can offer more flexibility). Start date ASAP / negotiable. Reports to the ICT Infrastructure Manger in a wider team of 8. Key duties: Provide technical support for hardware, software, and operating systems across the school. Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, network devices, telephony, and end-user systems. Support infrastructure operations through configuration, deployment, testing, and documentation. Deploy and maintain Apple and Windows end-user devices, including patching and endpoint protection. Manage and secure cloud-based platforms including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Administer Windows Active Directory, including user accounts and group policy. Respond to technical issues through Helpdesk tickets, walk-ins, phone, and email. Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline IT tasks. Contribute to ICT projects and system improvements with minimal user disruption. Liaise with vendors for hardware and software support and issue resolution. Skills And Experiences The ideal candidate: Tertiary qualifications in ICT and/or industry certifications (e.g. MCSA, MTA, CCNA), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Helpdesk or technical ICT role. Experience in a school (and with school-based information systems) or other educational institution would be highly regarded. Experience in MDM with Intune and Jamf Pro. Familiarity with server virtualisation platforms, switch and firewall configuration, wireless networking, and VoIP systems. Quick to learn new systems and technologies through self-training and on-the-job experience. Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a calm, patient, and resilient approach. Strong internal customer service skills with an ability to 'translate' for non-technical stakeholders. Organised and self-motivated. Personable with a good sense of humour.
