Your New Role Reporting to the Head of Investments Governance & Accountability, this is a ‘first line’ role that is responsible for managing process, risk, control, governance, and accountability for the Fixed Income & Currency Team (FIC) within the Investments Domain. In this role you will support the FIC and broader Investment Department by ensuring that FIC investment strategies are supported by appropriate governance, risk and control processes. This will include identification, assessment and documentation of business risk profiles, in accordance with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework. In addition, you’ll review the design and effectiveness of controls to ensure they’re managed in accordance with the Fund’s Control Standard and Guidance documents. Any incidents, issues and near misses will also be managed in accordance with the Funds Incident Management and Breach Reporting Policy. Key duties include but are not limited to; Ensure the bond mix, currency mix, portfolio construction and global fixed income security selection strategies are supported with appropriate governance, controls and risk management. Support the broader FIC Strategy, including its global footprint, by helping to identify and address operational pain points. Contribute to key FIC forums including presenting to the FIC Portfolio Oversight Group and Currency Implementation Management Group on FIC’s risk profile. Support key FIC initiatives such as portfolio design changes and other capability enhancements. Conduct regular bottom-up risk assessments across FIC’s Business Risk Profile encompassing financial and non-financial risks. Ensure the FIC Business Risk Profiles supports the Fund risk strategy, appetite and reporting to Investment Risk & Compliance Committee. This will include thematic issues, harmonization of risk assessments across various Asset Class Teams, and engagement with the wider fund for the management of Risks on behalf of Investments. Ensure FIC Control owners are supported in the management of their controls and comply with the Control Self Assessments requirements. Apply and embed the Incident & Breach Management Policy to FIC in accordance with the established management policies and procedures. What You’ll Need Detailed understanding of Fixed Income & Currency investment strategies and their associated risks. 10 years' experience in a combination of operations, legal, compliance, audit or risk management roles, as well as business and/or strategy roles, with a proven track-record of success Incident, Issue and/or Control management experience in an enterprise environment Attention to details and a sense of urgency is a must Self-driven and able to work independently, with excellent planning and organisational skills. Strong independent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills. Confidence interacting with people on different levels and experience liaising with and influencing internal/external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
