Description We are seeking a versatile and experienced Plant Operator who is happy to labour as well (or Labourer who can operate). This hands-on role combines general civil labouring with the safe and efficient operation of small-to-medium plant such as excavators, skid steers, rollers and loaders. You would be working across a range of civil project types including drainage, footpaths, kerbs, carparks and small roadworks. Our ideal candidate is someone who is proactive on the ground, confident behind the controls and committed to working safely and efficiently in a team environment. Crossroads is a division of Hazell Bros. This position is located in the Civil team of Crossroads. The ROLE Plant operation - Excavators up to 8t, Skid steer/Posi track, Roller and Compactor, Front End Loader and Tip trucks Carry out trenching, footings, site prep, backfill and load out tasks Pre-start and maintenance of plant/equipment Works around live services both overhead and underground, and in areas with pedestrians Assists with concreting, kerb and channel and formwork Lay stormwater and drainage pipes Prepare and clean up sites, spread materials and compact surfaces Install signage, fencing and basic traffic/pedestrian controls Maintain tools and equipment Ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way. Any other duties or tasks as reasonably directed.
