Senior Compliance Coordinator – Consumer Protection, Compliance & Investigations team, Fair Trading Grade: Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary range: $129,464 – $142,665 superannuation and leave loading Duration: Temporary Employment Opportunity up to June 2026. About the team An opportunity exists within NSW Fair Trading’s Operations Division, Consumer Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU), for a professional senior investigator who will act in the role of Compliance Coordinator. The primary role of CPIU is to protect and reduce the risk of financial detriment or harm to NSW consumers. The unit is responsible for the investigation of consumer complaints, education of traders and businesses, and the promotion of a fair marketplace for consumers and traders by maximising traders' compliance with regulatory requirements. Your day-to-day The Compliance Coordinator leads and manages the day to day operations of several teams of investigators within the CPIU. It is a results-driven role focused on prioritising and delegating work within the team while providing guidance and critical review to ensure regulatory objectives are achieved efficiently. Key responsibilities will include the management of several small teams of Investigators, oversight and coordination of compliance programs, reviewing, assessing and allocating reactive investigations, in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with the legislative requirements along with departmental policies and procedures. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following: Experience in the conduct of compliance inspections and resulting investigations. Have a thorough knowledge of best practice investigation policies and procedures, the rules of evidence, preparation of briefs of evidence, and court processes. Possess high level analytical, organisational and communication skills. Excellent communication and written skills. Experience with interpreting and applying multiple pieces of legislation various. Be able to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions. Demonstrated experience in leading a team. Pre-Requisites Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or preparedness to undertake an identical or similar employer-sponsored program. Demonstrated knowledge of formal conduct of investigations, evidence gathering and review process. Demonstrated ability to manage staff, and assist them to obtain optimum results from their teams Current NSW driver’s licence and ability and willingness to travel throughout the state when required.
