We are seeking passionate and dedicated Skills and Support Facilitators to join the team at WATCH Disability Services Inc at our Training and Support sites located in Mulgrave and Springvale. This role plays a crucial part in supporting individuals with disabilities, helping individuals develop essential life skills to reach their full potential. We are currently seeking a Full -time staff member and Causal staff. We have flexible work hours available from Monday to Friday, evening hours and weekend work. We are seeking people with a passion to support people with a disability to deliver skill development programs and supports to both individual’s and/or in group settings. We are seeking applicants who can develop activities and programs to cater to individual needs and undertake a range of daily tasks including assisting in personal care and meal assistance. You will be proactive in promoting community inclusion through following up on community-based opportunities for our participants, based on their interests and goals. You will also assist our participants to participate as much as possible in community and centre based activities. Our ideal Candidate will : Have a Positive and Can-Do attitude. Be an all rounder have the ability to support participants in a broad variety of activities and programs including cooking, swimming, sports, literacy, numeracy, vocational training, music, art, woodwork etc. Deliver and facilitate individualised support and educational programs to help participants build practical, social and independence skills. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect of participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances. Have the ability to build rapport and trust with participants and their support networks. Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth. Provide one-on-one and group-based supports, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each participant. Assist participants in accessing the community and engaging in a broad range of educational, skill development and social activities. Collaborate with allied health professionals, families and carers to ensure holistic and coordinated support. Maintain detailed participants records and report on goal progress and contribute to the continuous improvement of support services. Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs. Be flexible to work across sites. You will need the following: Must have a minimum Certificate III in Disability and preferably a Certificate IV (or above) in Disability Studies and/or Cert IV in Training and Assessment, or other relevant equivalent qualification. Have experience in training and supporting people with a disability. A background in woodwork, vocational training, art, sports, and swimming would be desirable. Full Victorian Drivers Licence and willingness to provide a driver history report. Current First Aid Level II and CPR Certificates. A NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
