This role involves implementing best-practice emergency management principles, providing training for staff in support roles, and serving as a key contact for external agencies. You will be responsible for emergency management communication and documentation, organising Emergency Management roles and rosters, and actively contributing to the Risk Management unit. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and facilitate Yarra’s ongoing Emergency Management commitments with internal staff and act as a central reference point for external agencies.Develop, continually improve, and maintain relevant Emergency Management plans and policies, including Council's Business Continuity Plan.Work collaboratively with the OHS team on Council’s internal emergency management policies and procedures.Attend North-West Emergency Management meetings and ensure Council contributes to plans and exercises.Coordinate regular Emergency Management training for staff with emergency management roles and maintain and train staff in Council’s emergency management system (Crisisworks).Demonstrate leadership in reducing Yarra’s emissions and building a climate-resilient future by embedding climate considerations into all Council activities.
