The Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. In this pivotal role, you will not only deliver high-quality first aid and medical care to our students but also actively contribute to fostering a healthy, supportive school environment that promotes overall student well-being. Based at the Junior School (girls), Moonee Ponds Campus, this is an ongoing part-time (0.52) position, working from 10.30am to 2.30pm, Mondays to Fridays during school terms. This position is available from 15 August 2025. Key Responsibilities: Provide first aid and emergency care to students and others onsite as required who become injured or ill, in line with the school's policies and procedures. Liaise with relevant staff and parents, reporting student first aid and emergency care matters, as required. Administer medications and support to students and staff members as prescribed by healthcare providers and maintain medication records. Attend events, such as sports days to provide first aid as required within usual hours. Identify and attend to risk management issues relating to first aid and report all safety matters in line with school policy The successful applicant will have: Relevant experience and nursing qualifications (minimum enrolled Nurse qualification and registered with AHPRA) Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certification Strong communication and interpersonal skills Competent information technology skills A commitment to child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children with diverse needs and backgrounds Current Working with Children’s Check Work experience in the education sector (preferable) The School Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 3,000 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East.
