About the Role The WHS Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that Capricorn maintains a safe and compliant work environment. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs, overseeing hazard and incident reporting, and ensuring alignment with all relevant regulatory standards. Additionally, the WHS Manager will manage return-to-work arrangements and coordinate with rehabilitation providers to support injured workers. This role is essential in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the organization. Key Responsibilities Championing a Safety Culture: Drive a proactive safety culture across office, remote, and field-based teams, ensuring everyone feels secure and supported. Policy and Procedure Enhancement : Continuously review and improve policies, procedures, and systems of work to maintain the highest standards of safety. Comprehensive Safety Management: Manage physical and psychosocial safety initiatives from start to finish, ensuring holistic well-being for all employees. Data-Driven Compliance: Ensure accurate data and metrics for reporting and compliance, making informed decisions to uphold safety standards. Collaborative Capability Building: Partner with the Capability and Development team to build robust safety capabilities across the organization. Influential Leadership: Influence leaders and employees to embed safety into everyday practices, fostering a culture of vigilance and care. Thorough Oversight: Oversee hazard and incident reporting, risk assessments, and investigations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. What We're Looking For We're seeking a proactive individual with a proven track record in leading work, health and safety frameworks. Key requirements include: Significant experience implementing and managing work, health and safety initiatives. Strong understanding of legislation and frameworks to create bespoke safety management systems. Ability and confidence to work in a standalone role. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across all organisational levels. A tertiary qualification in safety, psychology, health sciences, or a related field.
