The key duties of the position include We are seeking a highly capable and driven Deputy CEO to lead the Digital Investment, Advice and Sourcing Division within the DTA. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be a key member of the DTA's Executive Board which is the overarching governing body of the agency. You will offer thought leadership and strategic advice to the Executive and the Minister on emerging opportunities, trends, and challenges in digital and ICT across government. Please Note: This role will require travel. The key duties of the position are: Oversee sustained refinements, where necessary, to ensure the ongoing success of the Australian Government's Digital and ICT Investment Framework. Exercise good judgement on commercial opportunities and strong commercial acumen to negotiate high-value contracts with large multinational companies. Develop and maintain productive relationships, negotiate issues and tensions, and provide robust advice to Government, APS agencies, and other stakeholders. Engage with digital and business leaders in all APS agencies, particularly with central government agencies such as Prime Minister and Cabinet, Finance, and Treasury, as well as major service delivery agencies responsible for large digital transformation projects. Ensure maximum value and minimal risk outcomes in deciding upon and delivering digital investments through contestability and assurance oversight. Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to scrutinize proposals and assess the quality of business cases, understanding the rationale for the proposed scope, timing, and cost. Collaborate with agencies and other stakeholders to address emerging issues related to meeting delivery milestones, outcomes, and compliance with approved project funding conditions.
